Vitus Mach E Urban Electric Bike Review
Nov 28, 2022
Here is a quick review of my Vitus Mach E Urban electric bike, with a short Strava segment video with heart rate data overlay.
I purchased the Vitus Mach E back in October 2020 and I have covered just over 700 miles, mostly on wet and muddy lanes in Cornwall.
The Vitus uses the excellent Shimano Steps E6100 mid-drive motor with a decent 504Wh battery - I can get a range of around 75 miles with the Eco assist mode on permanently or over 100 miles with the assist switched off on flatter sections.
I have upgraded the original bike with a Shimano RS170 wheelset and Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres. I've also upgraded the gearing to SRAM NX with an 11-46 Sunrace 11-speed cassette.
I purchased this 2020 model at a reduced price of £1650 - the 2021 is more or less identical and currently retails for £2199. Still not a bad buy considering the spec.
All in all I think the Vitus Mach E Urban is a great bike. It's incredibly versatile and I have ridden it on some fairly rough gravel tracks without any issues. It's also quite light for an e-bike at 17.8kg (with SPD pedals fitted).
