Ribble CGR AL e Electric Gravel Bike Test Ride

In a follow up to my unboxing and review video, this time I take the Ribble CGR AL e electric bike for a gravel / off-road test ride on a route local to me at the edge of Bodmin moor near Caradon Hill in Cornwall, UK. Cycling in Cornwall can be challenging due to the relentless short, steep climbs but as you can see from this video it's well worth it for the views! Ribble cycles kindly lent me this bike to test ride and I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience. In the next video I will be showing you a comparison of heart rate data taken over three rides on the same route using a regular hybrid bike, the CGR AL e and a Vitus Mach E with Shimano Steps - the results are very interesting and the difference in average and peak heart rate on the hybrid vs the Ribble is marginal, despite 2000ft of elevation over 18.5 miles. Electric gravel bikes are the ultimate, versatile ebike and are perfect for daily commutes that involve cycle ways and canal paths. Ribble cycles have also sent me the Ribble Endurance SLe Pro to test - this bike has Shimano Ultegra Di2, full carbon frame and fork and carbon finishing kit - it's one of the lighest e-bikes currently available at just over 11kg. I have a 200km ride planned for the Christmas break and Iwill take the Ribble and upload a video of the highlights here. My strategy for this ride is to ride unassisted for the first 100km and only use the e-assist for the last 100km if I need to.
